This soft, natural exotic springbok hair-on hide coin purse is the perfect accessory. These lovely coin purses also make exquisite gifts for yourself or a friend. The interior is lined with traditional South African chwe-chwe cloth and closed with a zipper. This fabric was originally brought to South Africa by German settlers who emigrated in 1856 to establish an agricultural community. These prints became very popular amongst the Xhosa tribe and eventually became part of their culture. When a couple are married, the groom has a dress made for his bride from this fabric. The dress is called Isishweshewe and signifies to the community that she has the status of a married woman.
By purchasing these coin purses you are supporting environmentally friendly, government approved, herd maintenance programs as well as providing employment in previously disadvantaged communities in South Africa.
